We’re proud to welcome Hannah Diviney as the official ambassador for the South West Disability Expo 2026, taking place this February at Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool.
A writer, disability advocate, actress, speaker and media personality, Hannah is one of Australia’s most influential voices for disability rights and representation. A wheelchair user with cerebral palsy, she is known for her fearless advocacy, sharp wit, and ability to challenge ableism across media, policy and pop culture.
Hannah first gained national and international attention through her viral petition calling for a disabled Disney Princess, followed by successful campaigns that led global artists Lizzo and Beyoncé to amend ableist lyrics in their music. Her debut book, I’ll Let Myself In (2023), is a powerful collection of personal essays exploring what it means to grow up in a world not built for you. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Mamamia, and beyond, and she is the former Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of Missing Perspectives, a global media platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of women and girls.
At the South West Disability Expo, Hannah will officially open the event on Friday morning, before taking part in an on-stage Q&A session, where she’ll share her personal journey. She’ll also spend time meeting attendees throughout the day.
“I’m hoping people come to the Expo and find something they actually need,” Hannah says. “These events matter because they bring the community, service providers and decision-makers into the same space. When you see how interconnected everything is, it becomes much harder to ignore the realities of disabled people’s lives.”
The South West Disability Expo is designed to connect people with disability, families, carers and support networks with local, trusted providers across a wide range of services. With around 60 exhibitors, the event offers a more accessible, community‑focused experience while still covering everything from essential supports to lifestyle opportunities.
Visitors can explore providers across areas including:
- NDIS and government services
- Support coordination and plan management
- Allied health and medical services
- Aids, equipment and assistive technology
- Education, training and employment services
- Transport, housing, and home modifications
- Social, leisure and community programs
The Expo also features a lively stage program across both days, with speakers, performers and community voices sharing stories, ideas and inspiration.
